Mrs. Gunther's Page

Hello everyone! I am Mrs. Amanda Gunther, and I have been a teacher at Erickson since 2012. I have loved teaching 1st grade since 2014 and really do think it is the best grade to be in and teach!

 

My mom was a kindergarten teacher while I was growing up, so I spent a lot of time in her classroom while she set up her classroom and worked long hours. I even spent Saturday mornings cutting out lamination for her while I watched cartoons! I was very involved with gymnastics and and playing the violin in the orchestra growing up, and my first job was teaching preschool and beginner gymnastics. 

 

I went to Illinois State University to pursue my degree in Elementary Education. The following school year, I was so happy to find a home at Erickson and to work with such a wonderful group of educators. Erickson is a really special place!

 

My husband and I have two wonderful little girls and a crazy golden retriever named Teddy. When I'm not teaching or thinking about teaching, I love being with my family, reading books, baking bread, or doing crafts.
